No NHS Autism or ADHD Service in your Area?

This is a common issue at the moment and it is leaving a lot of people without any support and answers.  If you are in need of immediate assessment to preserve your mental health, your support needs and benefits, here is some advice:

Some NHS Services may allow you to seek assessment with a Private Assessor (this is not a guarantee, however worth discussing with your GP).  You can ask for assistance with assessment through an Individual Funding Request (IFR).  Bear in kind that there may be different rules in different UK regions, so it's important to ascertain with your GP whether this is possible for you.

What is an Individual Funding Request?

This is an application that your clinician can make on your behalf to your local Health Board through the PACS Tier 2 system, which replaced the older Individual Patient Treatment Request (IPTR) process in 2018. This system aims to ensure consistent decision-making across NHS Scotland for treatments not routinely offered, with applications focusing on a patient's exceptional clinical circumstances and potential benefit from the treatment.
